Web 2.0 Tools

There are hundreds of web 2.0 tools/widgets that you can add to your wiki that will actively engage your viewers. Always keep your audience in mind and the overall objective of your wiki when selecting web 2.0 tools/widgets.

Here are a few that I have used:

Cluster Maps: Gives real-time location indicators of visitors to your wiki. This would be a great geography lesson for students.

VoiceThreads:
A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments in 5 ways - using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). Share a VoiceThread with friends, students, and colleagues for them to record comments too.

Animoto: Create slideshows with music and transitions that can be embedded directly into your wiki
